Margaret Levinson, ACE, CPT
What takes you to 40 is not what takes you to 80.
My name is Margaret and I feel fit. Not fit for my age, medical history,
gene pool, stress levels or lifestyle, but fit period. However this was
not always so.
Although reasonably active growing up in Wisconsin, I was by no means
athletic. I started running in my 20s and kept to a regular schedule
until a severe hip injury forced me to stop in my 40s. I then took up
cycling, which I continue to this day, riding when possible outdoors and
teaching indoors.
Yet there seemed to be something missing. That coveted endorphin high
can take you only so far. An impromptu visit to a trainer specializing in
conditioning Olympic and other athletes provided the link I was seeking.
After personally experiencing the trainer's technique, I emerged
transformed, feeling like myself only different - stronger physically,
but even more so within.
This transformation proved to be lasting, and in fact builds as the
stretching work continues. Thus began a quest to share this profound
experience with others interested in attaining new levels of fitness.
Many hours of training and study later, I now await the opportunity to
expand your universe with a deceptively simple technique. This is not
for everyone, only for those who are open to change -- body, mind and spirit.
It is not the outer appearance of the body that is the driving force in my
program, although you may well be pleasantly surprised. A great deal of the
practice is internal. To restore equilibrium, we focus on aspects sometimes
neglected in the old fitness model:
o endurance
o cardiovascular efficiency
o respiratory capacity
o mindfulness
o balance
o flexibility
My practice is at the crossroads of fitness and healing, and my method
revolves around a regimen designed to expand the quality of life. I am a
gatherer of tools for promoting and enhancing vitality and this process never
stops. Please allow me to share these tools with you.
Together we will explore how what you put into your body in terms of
nutrition makes the difference between feeling your best or not so good.
We will examine how approaching life from a slightly different perspective can
alter things for the better. We will discover how to make incremental changes
day by day to effect positive changes in your health and well-being.
